I ran Visa stadium tours during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil in Recife and my responsibilities included coordination and communication with Visa guests, guest management, and liaison with FIFA Venue Managers. I also coordinated photography needs with Action Images on-site, liaised with GMR for hospitality guests, managed and reported customer issues to HQ.
A total of 5 matches took place in Recife and for each of them I ran three stadium tours:
– The first one three hours before kick-off
– The second one during the warm-up
– The last one at the half-time break
I guided fans from several countries who were extremely excited to be part of this exclusive experience. We visited very restricted areas such as dressing rooms, mixed zone, player’s tunnel, player’s benches, press conference room, media center, and the media tribune. During the warm-up and half-time tours, the group walked around the pitch, met the Official Mascot, and appeared on the Stadium Giant Screen. Unforgettable moments…
This was a very rewarding job because, by the end of each tour, guests would come to thank me for the amazing time they had at the stadium.
